Further details released in fatal Veterans Memorial Lane crash

WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – One person has died following a crash on Veterans Memorial Lane on Sunday.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office says it responded around 5:18 a.m. to Veterans Memorial Lane near Barren River Road for a collision involving two vehicles.

Deputies say they arrived at the scene and learned a white 2012 Nissan Sentra had traveled into the opposite lane and struck a grey 2021 Toyota Highlander head on.

The operator of the Nissan, Said Dahir Hashi, 57, of Bowling Green, was transported to The Medical Center at Bowling Green and pronounced dead.

The driver of the Toyota was also transported The Medical Center for suspected minor injuries.

The collision reconstruction team responded to the scene, and the road was shut down for just over an hour.
