Amber Alert still active for 15-year-old in Sumner County, TN
SUMNER COUNTY, Tn. – An autistic teenager in Tennessee is still missing as crews continue to ask the community for their help.
On February 26, an Amber Alert was issued for 15-year-old Sebastian Rogers of Hendersonville, Tennessee.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children says he was last seen in the area of Stafford Court in Hendersonville.
He has autism, which may impact his ability to return without assistance.
The Sumner County Sheriff’s Office is operating under the assumption Sebastian walked off, and with the weather seen recently, they’re concerned about potential hypothermia.
However, that’s not the only concern Sumner County Emergency Management has when it comes to Sebastian.
“One thing I’ve learned about autism is the stamina, the pain threshold, the drive in these men and women, young boys and young girls, is greater than ours. That’s something we’re looking at, and we urge people to get out and check those locations. A lot of farms in Sumner County, a lot of creeks in Sumner County. Check them,” Ken Weidner of Sumner County EMA says.
If you have any information on Rogers’ whereabouts, you are urged to contact the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation at 1-800-TBI-FIND (1-800-824-3463) or the Sumner County Emergency Communications Center at 615-451-3838.
