Moore named CUSA Freshman of the Week
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WKU Sports) – Hilltopper Basketball freshman guard Teagan Moore has been named Conference USA Freshman of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday. Moore helped the Hilltoppers to an unbeaten 2-0 mark in conference play last week that included home wins over UTEP and New Mexico State.
Moore posted a season-high 16 points off 5-for-7 shooting from the field and 6-of-7 from the free-throw line in Thursday’s 90-80 win over UTEP, then followed the performance with a team-high 12 points off 4-for-7 shooting and 3-of-3 from the stripe in a 72-58 win over New Mexico State on Saturday.
The pair of home victories in Diddle Arena improved the Hilltoppers’ record to 19-7 overall for the season and 8-4 in CUSA league play.
The 2023-24 CUSA Players of the Week awards are presented by Blenders Eyewear and are voted on by the league’s sports information directors.
