Local lunch hour offering Black History Month special

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A lunch hour held every Monday at SoKY Marketplace is offering special dishes next week for Black History Month.

The “Afrighanistan Lunch Hour” by CAREUSTZ is part of an initiative to empower refugee and immigrant women in Bowling Green and surrounding areas.

The dishes for this Monday will include chicken stew with fufu with cassava leaf soup, coconut milk, biriani rice, beef samosas and naan bread. Plates cost $10 each for three items.

The next event is set for Monday, Feb. 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the SoKY Marketplace Pavilion at 636 Center St.
