Safety checkpoints in Glasgow

GLASGOW, Ky. – Safety checkpoints will be conducted through the City of Glasgow all of February.

The Glasgow Police Department announced at the beginning of the month that they would be conducting stops to keep the roads safe and inform citizens of any problems pertaining to their vehicle. GPD told News 40 they’ll be on the lookout for things such as broken lights, drivers under the influence and expired insurance.

News 40 spoke to major Terry Flatt, who said, “We just want to be transparent with the community.”

Safety checkpoints will include but not be limited to Columbia Avenue, West Main Street, North Jackson Highway and Happy Valley Road.
