(CNN) – Consumers plan to spend nearly $26 billion on Valentine’s Day this year, which is roughly the same as last year.

That’s according to the National Retail Federation.

The figure breaks down to an average of nearly $186 a person, and it’s nearly $8 more than over the past five years.

Of the $26 billion, consumers are planning to spend a new high of more than $14 billion on spouses or significant others.

That’s a record of more than $101 a person.

Consumers are also projected to set spending records on jewelry, flowers, clothing and an evening out this year.
