Aldi eliminates plastic bags from all U.S. stores

(CNN) – Aldi customers will no longer be able to purchase plastic bags.
The discount grocery retailer has stopped carrying plastic shopping bags at all 2,300 U.S. stores.
The retailer aims to promote sustainability by reducing the use of plastic bags and encourage customers to bring their own bags.
Aldi’s CEO says the company became the first major retailer in the U.S. to eliminate bags at all of its stores.
But don’t worry – if you forget your own bags, you can still buy cloth bags in the stores.
