Beshear closes government buildings ahead of weather

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Gov. Andy Beshear has closed all executive branch state office buildings Friday due to anticipated weather conditions.

Beshear closed the buildings at 1 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Beshear stated that “storms coming in will likely impact families across the commonwealth. Please stay weather aware and safe!”

This includes Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Driver Licensing Regional Offices.

The decision follows several schools in the commonwealth closing ahead of expected wind and weather conditions, which could present hazards while driving.
