GLASGOW, Ky. – One person has died and another has been shot in Glasgow, according to police.

Glasgow police chief Guy Howie confirmed Friday morning that dispatch received a 911 call around 9:50 a.m. about a shooting.

Howie says officers responded to Dellwood Apartments off of South Green Street, where they spoke with one female juvenile victim with a single gunshot wound.

Police say while they provided treatment for the female victim, officers heard a second gunshot from inside of the apartment and located a dead male, who has been identified as 19-year-old Taeron Legg.

Howie said it appears the male victim died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and that this was a domestic incident.

Police say two other people were in the apartment at the time of the disturbance but were not injured.

The female victim was taken to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for treatment with non-life threatening injuries, police say.

Due to the location of this incident, Glasgow Independent Schools says South Green Elementary went into a brief lockdown and is now back to normal procedures. Howie says there is no threat to the public at this time.
