Dollar General delivers donations to International Center of Kentucky
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Hundreds of refugees will now have access to personal care products when they arrive in south central Kentucky thanks to a delivery from Dollar General.
The discount chain and the International Center of Kentucky are working together to provide hygiene essentials for refugees for refugee families that arrive with little to nothing in our community.
The International Center of Kentucky is mandated by state government to provide incoming refugees with personal care products.
Thursday’s donation is a huge help and relief for the organization.
Albert Mbanfu with the International Center of Kentucky says, “Whether we have the money or not we have to provide that. So the financial resources we have we can divert that to something else that will be beneficial to the refugees, because of the supply of these products.”
Dollar General donated a variety of products for the refugee welcome bags, including soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, tampons and Chapstick.
