MLK celebration held at Warren Central High School

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – At Warren County Public Schools, they celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. ahead of his birthday on Jan. 15.

News 40 went to Warren Central High School Wednesday evening to catch a glimpse of the festivities, which included songs, poetry and, of course, a performance of King’s “I Have A Dream” speech. News 40 spoke to the masters of ceremony about their part in the celebration tonight.

The students said that they were both happy and nervous to be part of the evening and that it’s a meaningful thing with them both being people of color.

The students made mention that even though the civil rights movement happened some years ago, the past is still relevant and can teach us many things today.
