Signing ceremony at Warren county Public Schools

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – At Greenwood High School, WCPS held a signing ceremony for their teachers who were able to obtain Rank 2 and Rank 1 certification through Bloomboard.

Bloomboard is an alternative way to go about attaining higher certification, where traditionally, extra schooling would be required. Superintendent Rob Clayton told News 40 that the school board acknowledges that it is not feasible for everyone to return to school due to money or time, so to show that they invest in their staff just as much as they want them to invest in the district, they eliminated some of the cost to the teachers.

Clayton said that it’s no secret that it’s a tough time to be in public education right now and that he and the school board will always try to introduce opportunities to the staff in order for them to earn higher pay.

The station spoke to a history teacher today who received his Rank 1 certification, and he said that it’s a win-win for everyone involved. He told News 40 that teachers are terribly underpaid for all the hats they wear and he hopes things change going into the next 4 years of Beshear’s governorship.
