Patti Minter announces candidacy for mayor of Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Former Kentucky Rep. Patti Minter announced her candidacy Thursday for mayor of Bowling Green.
Minter announced the news in a social media post, referencing her past position representing Bowling Green and working in education and advocacy.
Bowling Green deserves leaders who lift people up instead of leaving people out. That’s been my life’s work. And that’s why I’m running for mayor.

“For over a decade, many of the politicians calling the shots in City Hall have ignored the people they’re supposed to represent: clamping down on your right to transparency,” Minter stated. “Enabling discrimination against people simply because of who they love. Listening to big real estate developers, but not neighborhood families. Today, your right to offer public comment at City Hall is more restricted than it was just a few years ago. Something is broken — and it’s time we fixed it.”
Minter stated she is grateful to former mayor Patsy Sloan and former mayor Elaine Walker for joining her in support.
