Simpson County Tourism to take bids on new building

FRANKLIN, Ky. – Simpson County Tourism is looking for bids on renovating a downtown building which will house their service.

Currently they are located next to the Goodnight Memorial Library in a renovated house that they are sharing with other similar services.

The hope says Executive Director Amy Ellis is that locating themselves in the vibrant downtown will help the growing number of tourists in the city.

“I think it’ll be great because that’s really where a lot of the tourists are coming. And we have a lot of nighttime events. We have a lot of concerts. We have a lot of activity on the weekends And that way we will have a presence downtown so that we can help guide visitors with other things to do.” Ellis said.

Currently Simpson County Tourism is accepting bids for renovating the building while maintaining its historical heritage in the downtown area.
