Elon Musk’s X allegedly failed to pay promised bonuses to staff

(CNN) – X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, will face a court battle after failing to pay out annual bonuses promised to its employees.
A former employee who left the company in may filed the class action lawsuit in San Francisco.
The U.S. District Judge ruled on Friday the case can go forward, stating that the offer to pay a bonus is a binding contract under California law.
The social media company had argued that an oral promise should not be binding and that the case should be heard in Texas.
According to the court complaint, X executives repeatedly promised bonuses in the months leading up to Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter and after the sale.
