UPDATE: Name released of victim in multi-vehicle fatal collision near Munfordville

HORSE CAVE, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police has released further information involving a fatal collision Thursday afternoon in Hart County.

Troopers say they were notified of a multi-vehicle collision near 5:45 p.m. near the 59 mile marker on Interstate 65 northbound.

According to KSP, two tractor-trailers driven by Travis R. Williams, 49, of Sheridan, Indiana and another unnamed driver were traveling on I-65 northbound when they made minor contact. After the contact, authorities say the trailer driven by Williams accelerated to the front of the other trailer, stopping both vehicles in the right travel lane of the interstate.

Troopers say this caused a chain of collisions, resulting in the death of Dallas R. Woodard, 18, of Rineyville, Kentucky.

The collision involved a total of six vehicles, according to KSP.

In addition, authorities say Kiarra Padilla, 21, of Battletown, Kentucky was flown to the University of Louisville Hospital, and two others drivers were transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital by EMS.

Williams is now facing a charge of first-degree wanton endangerment and remains at the Hart County Jail as of Friday afternoon.
