Scottsville police say nothing found during search of person of interest’s property

MUNFODRDVILLE, Ky.- Scottsville police have announced that nothing of significance was found Tuesday when authorities searched a property belonging to a person of interest in the case of a missing woman.

Authorities searched the barn and the surrounding area for 10 hours at 220 Lester Gardner Road.

The barn belongs to Calvin Smith, who police say was the last person to see Peggy Sue Ashley Vinson alive. Police say Smith picked Vinson up in his truck around 2 a.m. from the A.O. Scott Factory in Scottsville on July 29, 2000. She hasn’t been heard from since.

Police announced Wednesday that Smith remains a person of interest in the case.
