UPDATE: Bowling Green police confirm death of pedestrian after collision on Campbell Lane

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Police say a Western Kentucky University student has died after being struck by two vehicles on Campbell Lane.

Bowling Green Police Department public information officer Ronnie Ward said that the incident had taken place Friday at 5:15 p.m. off of the 800 block of Campbell Lane near Fields Drive.

When officers arrived, police say they found a pedestrian at the scene.

Ward says Daishyera Chanel Marie Garner, 22, of Bowling Green was transported to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police say they do not expect alcohol or drugs to be a contributing factor, and no charges have been filed at this time.

Campbell Lane between Nashville Road and Thoroughbred Drive is down to two lanes while Bowling Green police reconstruct the collision. Lanes should reopen within the next hour.
