Man arrested on attempted murder charge in Allen County

ALLEN COUNTY, Ky. – A man is facing an attempted murder charge after authorities say he stabbed his father in Allen County.

The Allen County Sheriff’s Office says it responded Thursday to the Brooks Road area for a reported stabbing.

Deputies say at the scene, they made contact with a male with multiple stab wounds. Authorities say the victim said his son, 28-year-old Matthew Austin, had stabbed him.

Deputies say they located Austin, who they say had a large amount of blood on him and admitted to stabbing his father.

Austin was taken to the Allen County Detention Center and is charged with murder – domestic violence (attempted).

He additionally had an active arrest warrant for possession of methamphetamine and public intoxication.
