Warren County Emergency Management reiterates burn notices

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – With the fires in eastern Kentucky still ongoing and after Wednesday’s fire off of Upper Dixie Highway, officials want to make sure you are following the burn notices in place.
Until Dec. 15, you are not allowed to burn anything, leaves included, between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
You also can not burn any items within 150 feet of a structure at any time.
If an incident similar to the one in Smiths Grove was to happen again, be sure to contact the proper authorities.
“If there’s any kind of unattended burns, if you feel that it’s necessary and you think it’s going to get out of hand or the winds are spreading pretty quickly, the sooner you can get additional help… call 911 obviously and… They’ll have a whole bunch of questions to ask and they’ll want to know a location,” Casey Archey with Warren County Emergency Management says.
Again, these burn notices are in effect until Dec. 15.
Agencies across Warren County have responded to two large brush fires today.
It’s dry outside. Please refrain from burning. If you must burn, please follow the laws set forth by the Kentucky Division of Forestry. Those laws are below. pic.twitter.com/cRf0C24O8K
