Jaycees Parade announces new grand marshal
BOWLING GREEN Ky. – The annual Jaycee’s Parade is back in Bowling Green on December second and they have already announced this year’s grand marshal.
Nashville based musician Trevor Martin, a native of Bowling Green will lead the parade this year and says he is excited to get the opportunity.
“It’s an honor to be asked to be the grand marshal. And so I’m really excited to be there. I love Christmas time and it’s just the best place to spend is in your hometown.” Martin said.
The parade which returned back in full force in 2021 has seen its attendance return to pre-pandemic levels says Chairman Mary-John Carmon. The parade is a fixture in the community and is a big part of the holiday celebrations in Bowling Green.
“We just felt like he was someone we wanted to recognize for the things that he’s doing. And I just feel certain he’s going to be someone that we’re going to all say, we knew him when.” Carmon said.
There is still time to sign up to be in the parade which takes place on December second at nine-thirty in the morning.
“If anybody wants to be in the parade, we would love. We are still accepting entry forms and we would love to have you all join Trevor and everyone else is going to be the parade and so there’s still time to do it. You just go to SOKYFair.org and click on the Christmas Parade tab and there’s an entry form and the deadline for entries November 15th.” Carmon said.
