SCK Launch Experience in Bowling Green
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – At the Western Kentucky University Knicely Conference Center, thousands of 8th graders are converging on the building to see what their future might look like.
News 40 visited the SCK Launch Experience today to see all the buzz that has been building over the last several years as a result of the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce working together with the local school systems and businesses. The event is open to eighth graders in the viewing area and it’s just a way to get them thinking about their future as they go into high school.
Around 200 organizations fill the conference center for two days and interact with the middle schoolers, having demonstrations for them and talking to the students about what they do. It’s gotten so big that they have to turn away outside communities as there just isn’t enough time or space.
The event has also grabbed the attention of those outside Kentucky. Today, some folk from Conway, Arkansas came all the way up to Bowling Green hoping to glean some ideas from the town and replicate something similar in their community.
