Butler County Animal Shelter facing fees after mattress dumped onsite

MORGANTOWN, Ky. – The Butler County Animal Shelter says it is facing unexpected costs from trash left at their dumpster.

The shelter says Wednesday around 4:30 p.m., an unknown person left a mattress infested with bed bugs.

Now, the shelter is asking for help to learn who is responsible or it says it must pay to have the mattress disposed of.

Rescuers say this will draw from funds already needed to care for the animals.
