Adair County man arrested after Cave City drug bust

CAVE CITY, Ky. – Multiple drugs are off of the street after an arrest at a Cave City motel.
The Barren River Drug Task Force says it responded around 1:48 p.m. to a motel on Gardner Lane regarding a drug investigation.
Officials say when they attempted to make contact, Barry F. Marcum, 34, of Gradyville, Kentucky opened the door. Illegal drugs were visible in plain view, according to officials.
The drug task force says following this, agents found about 400 grams of methamphetamine, 37 fentanyl pills disguised as oxycodone, nine suboxone strips, 14 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, three strips of LSD, marijuana, a large sum of cash and a handgun.
Marcum was arrested for an active warrant, as well as charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offence (greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine) (enhanced due to the firearm), first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (LSD) (enhanced), trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (carfentanil or fentanyl derivatives) (enhanced), second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offence (greater than or equal to 10 dose units of a hallucinogen) (enhanced), third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offence (less than 20 dose units – drug unspecified) (enhanced), trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 ounces) (enhanced), possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and drug paraphernalia-buy/possess.
Marcum was taken to the Barren County Correctional Center.
The drug task force received assistance from the Cave City Police Department and Barren County Sheriff’s Office.
