Man arrested in connection with death of WKU student, police say

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Police Department has confirmed one man has been arrested in connection with the death of Western Kentucky University student Ayanna Morgan.
According to an arrest citation, Kobee Lancaster, 24, of Bowling Green turned himself in Tuesday while with his attorney at the Bowling Green Police Department.
Lancaster faces a charge of first-degree assault.
On Thursday, BGPD public information officer Ronnie Ward confirmed Lancaster was charged in connection with the shooting death of Morgan.
Ward says Bowling Green police are still searching for Malik Jones. Jones is wanted on a warrant for murder in connection to the shooting.
Lancaster remains at the Warren County Detention Center under a $500,000 cash bond. Jail records state Lancaster was scheduled for a court appearance at 9 a.m. Thursday morning.
