UPDATE: Nearly $65k raised so far to benefit officer Matt Davis

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The numbers are still rolling in for Thursday’s fundraiser for officer Matt Davis, and the total is already impressive.

According to Cotton BBQ owner Eric Cotton, the total amount raised so far has reached nearly $65,000. Of those funds, Cotton says up to about $40,000 came from Cotton BBQ alone.

The total money raised is sourced from the 50/50 raffle, donations on-site and food sales.

In a message, Cotton says, “It was great to be able to put this event on, and the amount of support from the community was very overwhelming. We over exceeded every initial goal for the event.”

At one point, he says their food truck even had to make a Sam’s Club run for more supplies. Cotton estimates his business made between 2,200 to 2,300 plates, sold 60 whole pork butts and 80 racks of ribs.
