Bowling Green hosts Household Hazardous Waste Day and Drug Take Back Day
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The City of Bowling Green hosted Household Hazardous Waste Day and Drug Take Back Day this past Saturday.
The event was a drive-up drop-off for prescriptions and other household items that are difficult to safely dispose of. Items that were dropped off included electronics, glass wear, batteries, and larger items.
Warren County Public Works expected about 500 cars at this event.
Assistant Director at Warren County Public Works Nikki Koller discussed the importance of throwing away hazardous items correctly.
“It’s super important to dispose of your waste in a proper way,” Koller said. “A lot of these things get recycled and go to other uses, which is really great. And then it keeps it out of our groundwater.”
