CASA welcomes new executive director

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Court Appointed Special Advocates of South Central Kentucky has announced Melinda Hill as its new executive director.

CASA is a non-profit organization that supports and promotes court-appointed volunteer advocacy for youth who have experienced neglect or abuse.

CASA stated in a release that it believes that every child should be allowed to thrive in a loving and safe environment. As the executive director for CASA of South Central Kentucky, Hill will be active in Warren County as she leads the advocate coordinators and volunteers of the organization while also ensuring financial security through grants and fundraising.

CASA further stated that Hill has a unique background in skills such as community relations, education, training and economic development that will ensure her success as the new executive director of south central Kentucky.

Hill is also native to Warren County. CASA’s release stated she graduated from Union University with an undergraduate degree in accounting and received her master of business administration from Western Kentucky University.

According to the release, Hill has extensive leadership experience that began when she held the office of Kentucky State President of the Future Business Leaders of America during her time at Warren East High School.

Hill has also previously served as the director of community impact for United Way of Southern Kentucky, stated the release. In this position, Hill developed and implemented strategies to help the community achieve goals and established effective partnerships to support and meet those goals.

She also served as the chief of staff in the finance and administration cabinet for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, according to the release. In this role, she oversaw over 1,000 employees and acted as a liaison for several projects. Hill has also served as a city commissioner for Bowling Green, which allowed her to oversee city management and create public policy. In addition, she has experience putting together programs for Fortune 500 Companies and financial institutions.

CASA stated Hill is active in her community. She is a Leadership Bowling Green Alumni and a Leadership West Kentucky Alumni and served on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers and Big Sisters for over a decade. Additionally, she served as a Chairperson for Turning Education into Potential for eight years.

Hill has raised two children in Warren County. Her son, Thomas Hill, is the owner and operator of Mosquito Zero in Bowling Green and graduated from the University of Kentucky. Hill’s daughter, Hilary, attended the University of Louisville and the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. She is a pediatrician with Norton Children’s Medical Group. Hilary is married to Chris, who is a pain medicine physician and anesthesiologist at Commonwealth Pain and Spine. Chris and Hilary have one daughter, Adley Mae.

CASA stated Melinda Hill has built her life and leadership in Warren County, and they are excited for her to continue to do so as the new executive director of CASA of South Central Kentucky.
