BikeWalk BG provides Bike Riding Lessons with Mobile Bike Program

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – BikeWalk BG took their Mobile Bike Program to Preston Miller Park to help teach children about riding a bicycle.

Volunteers created a bike course in the parking lot for children to maneuver between the cones and learn how to use a crosswalk with a bicycle.

BikeWalk BG Coordinator Karissa Lemon is always happy to help children grow as bicyclists.

“We’ve seen kids get on trikes and be able to ride a bike and just the look on their face of being proud of themselves,” Lemon said. “And then kids riding 10 miles when they’d only ridden maybe one or two before and being able to have the pride of getting to beat their parents on a bike ride or something like that. So really just getting to see people gain confidence and skill levels and have fun.”

BikeWalk BG’s next event will be held on Saturday, August 13th from 10 a.m.-noon at the Foundry. The Community Mobile Bike Program is free and will include a kid’s bike rodeo, as well as free bicycle repair.
