Bionic man writes first book ‘Handed a Greater Purpose’
OWENSBORO, Ky.- Owensboro native Jason Koger has just released his first book, ‘Handed a Greater Purpose’ opening up about his journey of losing both his arms in a tragic accident.
On March 1, 2008, he was riding a four wheeler on his farm, and hit a downed power line, taking 7,200 volts of electricity to his body.
Both of his arms had to be amputated in order to save his life. Today, he’s been a guest star on shows like Hawaii Five-O, featured on CNN, and does public speaking around the country.
He said the book focuses on the bigger part of the story, which is overcoming obstacles.
“I feel like nowadays, it’s so easy for someone to stop and quit. It’s for sure easier, it would’ve been real easy for me to stop and quit but I don’t want that for me and I don’t want that for anyone else. I want everyone to succeed in everything that they do and I want everyone to understand that bad things are going to happen, you’re going to have rough days and rough times, you have to set your mind to it that you’re gonna overcome it and move on,” said Koger.
You can find information about purchasing his book here. He wants the sales of the book to help other people who have also lost limbs.
