Research Foundation Symposium showcases advancement of medicine
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – After a two-year hiatus due to COVID, the Research Foundation Symposium at Med Center Health is back to its original format!
Over 200 local physicians, nurses and medical professionals attended the event at the Western Kentucky Heart and Lung Center.
Attendees heard from leaders in cardiovascular, pulmonary and orthopedic surgery on different topics about the advancement of medicine.
Poster presentations highlighted the impressive research by physicians, residents and fellows done over the past year. Many of them have been presented at the national level or published in medical journals.
“It allows everyone to know what’s going on in research and it allows us to make better decisions for our patients,” said Travis Huffman, a second year cardiovascular fellow.
“Medical education is something that’s very near and dear to my heart and to have a community here on campus that fosters this type of environment makes me happy and produces the best physicians,” said Hassnain Syed, chief resident of internal medicine.
