Gov. Beshear signs nursing bill into law

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Gov. Andy Beshear signed a bill into law Thursday that aims to remove some of the barriers nurses face when practicing or attempting to practice in Kentucky.

SB 10 helps colleges and universities that face barriers to expanding their nursing programs, according to a release by the Office of Gov. Andy Beshear.

“It is important that Kentucky has quality nursing care that will meet our future needs,” said Sen. Robby Mills. “SB 10 is a big step forward in ensuring that our commonwealth’s health care systems have the nurses to meet our citizens health needs now and in the future.”
