Wandering bear returns to wild
(WOOD) A black bear found in a tree in a residential area in Grand Rapids, Michigan Sunday has been returned to the wild.
A police officer took video of the bear falling to the ground after it was tranquilized by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
DNR officials loaded the male bear into a trailer and shared another video of the bear being released safely back into the wild.
Experts say newly-independent young bears keep moving until they find territory not covered by another bear.
Sometimes, they can wander into a city, get confused and hide in a tree.
