Major resurfacing project to take place on I-65 in Barren, Edmonson and Warren Counties

Preparations are underway for a major resurfacing project on I-65 in Barren, Edmonson and Warren Counties.

Drivers may have already noticed a lot of orange construction barrels setup along the shoulder area, between mile markers 35 and 44. 

Resurfacing on the roadway is expected to begin on September 4. The project will resurface the entire interstate in both directions. The paving will be done 7:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m.

The interstate will be down to one lane during the overnight hours while resurfacing is taking place. 

If you are traveling that area, please remember to slow down and be alert when approaching the construction zone. 

The project is expected to be completed in late November, depending on weather.
