7th annual Jackrabbit Jog run/walk

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-Earlier this morning, runners and walkers laced up their sneakers to take part in the 7th annual Jackrabbit Jog.

Dozens of people raced in the 5 miler, the 5k run/walk, and the bunny hop race for kids.

Over the years, the race has raised over $20,000 for PKD, or polycystic kidney disease. The inherited disorder causes clusters of cysts to form on your kidneys, causing them to enlarge and lose function over time.

There is currently no cure for PKD…but Race Director Ryan Dearbone hopes there one day will be.

“I’ve got plenty of family that know I do this race and put it on and they are just thrilled. They are so happy to know that people come out to support it and that something’s being done, that way we don’t have to suffer another loss like this in our family and hopefully we’ll be able to save the lives of many others,” said Dearbone.
