78-year-old Grayson County man goes missing, later dies in creek bed

MILLWOOD, Ky. – Authorities say an older Grayson County man who went missing Monday is dead.
According to K105, first responders received reports of a missing 78-year-old man at approximately 6:30 pm.
The man was last seen at around 2:30 pm on Green Road walking to his mailbox. Friends and family of the man searched for him before contacting authorities.
Upon arrival, first responders deployed two dones and multiple dogs to assist in the search.
At around 9 pm, the man was found unresponsive in a creek bed. The Grayson County Coroner’s Office pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Grayson County Emergency Management Director Carey Sims told K105 that volunteers and family members along with the Leitchfield, Falls of Rough and Caneyville Fire Departments, Leitchfield Police Department, Grayson County EMS, Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, Hart County Sheriff’s Office, Hart County Emergency Management, Hart County’s Canine Search Inc. of KY, and volunteer GCEM personnel Andrew Whobrey, Joseph Whobrey and Jessica Bailey contributed to the search as did GCEM Deputy Director DeeDee Whitely.
