2nd annual Birdies for Brittney held at Indian Hills

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The second annual Birdies for Brittney was held on Monday at Indian Hills Country Club.

The yearly golf scramble is held in honor of Brittney Gorman Parrish, a Bowling Green woman who passed away from leukemia in May 2017.

Birdies for Brittney was created by her father, Doug Gorman, in an effort to raise funds for scholarships for high school seniors who plan on attending Western Kentucky University.

Some of the funds will also be donated to Phoenix Rising, a local non-profit organization.

For Doug Gorman, it means a lot to him and his family to have such great community support at this event.

“It’s extremely humbling to our family,” said Gorman. “Brittney was just a great daughter, great person. For this community to continue to pour out their love to us, but also wanting to honor her legacy just means the world to us. It’s just a great, great thing.”

Fifty teams competed in the 2019 golf tournament, 20 more teams than the first year this event was held.
