2 winning Powerball tickets sold in Kentucky

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Two winning Powerball tickets were sold in Kentucky.
In the past couple weeks, Kentucky has produced two $50,000 Powerball winners, the first one in Campbellsville and the most recent one purchased in Lexington.
The ticket purchased in Lexington was bought at Kroger located on 101 Tates Creek Center Drive in Lexington. The winner matched four white balls and the Powerball to secure the $50,000 this past drawing on April 18.
Not too long before this winner, Melvin and Donna Bradley had claimed their $50,000 ticket, which had been bought at T-MART in Campbellsville.
The Bradleys were informed of their winning ticket via the Kentucky Lottery Facebook Page.
“We had a mutual friend of ours post on Facebook that there was a $50,000 winner in Campbellsville,” Melvin Bradley said.
Donna Bradley had then asked her husband what store he had purchased the tickets from when they began realizing the possible outcome.
“I said, ‘Did you get some tickets?’ and he said, ‘Yeah!’” Donna recalled. “So, I said, ‘Well, give them here – I need to check them!’”.
Donna Bradley checked two out of the three tickets before noticing that number three was the winning ticket.
“I started matching the numbers,” she said. “I was like, ‘I think he won $50,000!’ So, I opened my lottery app and scanned the ticket, and it said ‘Congratulations!’”.
When Melvin Bradley heard the news, he remained somewhat cool, Donna on the other hand was the more excited out of the two. As for now, the couple doesn’t have plans for their winnings but have mentioned potential new home remodeling projects.
“I’m blessed for this,” Melvin Bradley said. “Totally blessed.”.
The Bradleys have received $36,520 after taxes while T-MART gets $500 for selling the winning ticket.
The next drawing will take place Monday, April 20, at 11 p.m EST, where the current jackpot sits at $87 million. Since the advertised jackpot is below $150 million, the 10 times power play will be available to play.
In 2025, more than $1.6 billion in winnings were paid out by the Kentucky Lottery while also having the proceeds fund scholarships and grants to over a million Kentucky college students.
