14-year-old arrested after fatal shooting of teen in Paducah

PADUCAH, Ky. – A 14-year-old has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old in Paducah, authorities say.

According to a social media post by the Paducah Police Department, around 10:55 p.m. Monday, officers responded to the 1000 block of Bronson Avenue for a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, authorities say they located a 17-year-old male who had been shot.

Authorities say they provided first-aid until medical personnel arrived on scene.

The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital but did not survive, authorities say.

A 14-year-old male has since been charged in connection with the shooting, according to police. Authorities say they learned the teen allegedly fired a handgun during an argument, leading to the victim’s death.

The 14-year-old currently faces a murder charge and was transported to the McCracken Regional Juvenile Detention Center.

The investigation remains ongoing.
