MANCHESTER, Ky. – A pedestrian has died after reportedly being struck by a UTV in Clay County.
According to the Kentucky State Police, troopers were notified of a UTV versus pedestrian collision Thursday on Robinson Creek Road in Manchester.
Authorities say a preliminary investigation revealed a UTV operated by 34-year-old Skyler L. Robinson of Manchester was traveling east on Robinson Creek Road to check on farmland in the area.
Troopers say when Robinson was traveling on Robinson Creek Road, a pedestrian, identified as 56-year-old Robert L. Fisher of Manchester, stepped from the shoulder of the roadway into the path of Robinson, who was unable to avoid him.
As a result, Fisher was transported to Advent Health Manchester via Clay County EMS, where he died due to his injuries and was pronounced dead by the Clay County Coroner’s Office.
The case remains under investigation.
Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in this collision, but toxicology is pending at this time, according to authorities.
