Women’s Fund of Southcentral Kentucky announces $190,000 for grants

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Women’s Fund of Southcentral Kentucky has officially raised $190,000 to help support organizations supporting women, children and families in south-central Kentucky.

The money from the Women’s Fund grants is raised all year through the help of the community, and this year, the organization raised $190,000. One hundred thousand dollars of the money will go toward the Impact Grant, $70,000 will go to the Growth Grant and $10,000 will go to two recipients of the Recognition Grants.

Each year, an Impact Grant goes to one organization helping women or children in the south-central Kentucky community. There are certain requirements to receive the grant money, some of the requirements being commitment to long-range planning, specific and measurable goals for project evaluation, desire to promote coordination and collaboration among organizations or institutions to prevent duplication of projects, and more.

The Women’s Fund lists all of the requirements for the grants on their website https://cfsky.org/womens-fund-grant-guidelines/.

The Women’s Funds grants have been helping many organizations for years, with the grants being given out at an annual dinner. The dinner includes presentations given by each grant finalist and voted on by each member from the Women’s Fund. Each member gets one vote, and once all the votes are counted, everything is announced. In previous years some of the organizations that have received the grant money have been: Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement, Kids on the Block, Lost River Cave and the Hope House.

The finalists for the grant money this year will be announced on Sept. 23 at the next Lunch and Learn event, but to read more about past year’s impact grant organizations visit their website at cfsky.org.
