WKU Women’s Basketball: Niang announces plans to transfer

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Western Kentucky Women’s Basketball redshirt-sophomore Arame Niang has announced her decision to transfer from the program.

Niang shared the news on her Twitter account on Friday afternoon.

After sitting out the 2017-2018 season due to NCAA transfer regulations, Niang provided solid contributions off the bench in her first, and what is now only, season on the Hill.

This past season, Niang appeared in 33 games for WKU, averaging 5.7 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.

The redshirt-sophomore’s best game of the season came against Morgan State on November 28.

She recorded her only double-double of the season, pouring in 15 points and grabbing 13 rebounds in just 22 minutes on the court.
