WKU Player of the Week: men’s golfer Gage Doyle

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – This week’s WKU Athletics Player of the Week is men’s golfer Gage Doyle!

The senior finished in a tie for second place in the Toppers’ first action of the fall last week.

Doyle shot 8-under par through three days at the ANF Fall Classic hosted by Iowa, ending with a 208 total.

The score marked a career-best and the second place finish was the highest collegiate placement for the Colleyville, Texas native.

Doyle was able to set himself apart on the course’s Par 4 holes, averaging 3.82 strokes – the best rate in the tournament.

Overall, he helped WKU secure a second place team finish, which was Western’s best since 2024.

The team will prepare to head to UAB for the Greame McDowell Invitational, set to begin on Sunday, September 20.
