ZZ Leiden competes in the Dutch Basketball League. The team has won the national championship three times, the NBB Cup twice and the Dutch Basketball Supercup twice.

Thompson, a 6-foot-4 guard from Murfreesboro, Tenn., joined the Hilltoppers for the 2017-18 season as a graduate transfer from Virginia.

He left his mark on the program in just one year, starting all 38 games, averaging 35.6 minutes per contest and earning a spot on the All-Conference USA Second Team.

Thompson’s most memorable accomplishment came at Marshall on Jan. 6, when he recorded the second triple-double in Hilltopper history with 33 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
