WKU kicker discusses supporting community through tornado relief

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Hilltopper Brayden Narveson set up a GoFundMe to help support the community.

Narveson set up a GoFundMe to help raise money to provide clothing for victims of the tornados that hit Bowling Green, this past weekend.

“Everybody’s just extremely devastated and sad for everybody that has lost everything,” Narveson said. “And just obviously very grateful and happy for the people that didn’t lose everything. And for the people that are able to help other people like that. And, you know, to come together as a community, I think we’re all seeing the positive of our community in our country, when you know, something like this happens, everybody kind of meshes together instead of breaking apart.”

WKU football will be playing App State in the RoofClaim.com Boca Raton Bowl this upcoming Saturday and the team is looking to lift up the community.

“I think not necessarily as much pressure, it’s just more playing for your community and playing for everybody and making it a distraction for people that are going through stuff like this so they can watch and kind of forget, or hopefully forget what’s going on. Because that’s a big thing, trying to get people’s minds off of it.”
