WKU celebrates Parents and Family weekend

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-You might notice a bunch of parents on the campus of Western Kentucky University this weekend…because it’s parent and family weekend!

Every year, the university invites their student’s family to spend the weekend on the Hill.

They keep the weekend jam packed for the visitors, offering dozens of fun events from Friday to Sunday for families.

Some of the highlights include a scavenger hunt, free admission to the Kentucky museum, and of course the football game against Troy on Saturday night.

“I’m pretty excited, I think it’s going to be cool like showing them around the chapter house and I’m just excited to spend time and watch football with them,” said Brady Bowling.

“I love this campus. I think it’s beautiful. It’s only like a two hour 15 minute drive but we don’t get here a lot. So it’s fun to come when the campus is kind of hustle bustle with all the other parents and the students are out. I just enjoy it,” said parent Missy Woolums.

“We’re visiting our son, he’s a freshman here and we haven’t seen him in six weeks. We’re really excited,” said parent Kirsten Klipp.
