Warren County Sheriff’s Office receives $650,000 increase in budget
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Warren County Sheriff’s Office budget was approved by Fiscal Court at a higher amount than in previous years.
This year, the budget stands at 9.3 million.
Last year the budget was 8.65 million.
That is a $650,000 increase.
Warren County Sheriff Brett Hightower says $80,000 of the increase is because of gas prices being so high. Hightower believes the gas prices will remain high throughout the year.
All employees will be getting a 2% cost of living adjustment in their pay as well.
“The good thing is we’ve got a lot of increased growth in Warren County, a lot more homes and developments being in process. So that brings in additional tax money as well. And with an increased population, we’ve seen a really big increase in the number of papers were serving, vehicle inspections, just processes in general,” said Hightower.
Hightower says the sheriff’s office budget rising is fitting for the growing county.
