Warren County Parks & Recreation Dept. proposes new Multi-Purpose sports fields
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Over the past week, the Warren County Parks & Recreation Department has sent a proposal to the county’s Fiscal Court that includes a number of new multi-purpose sports fields that will be constructed in various parks across Warren County.
These multi-purpose fields would largely service the sports of soccer, football and lacrosse, which are all growing communities in the local area.
The proposal comes with a price tag of approximately $6.7 million and includes three multi-purpose fields at Phil Moore Park, two AstroTurf synthetic fields at Ephram White Park and one synthetic field at Michael O. Buchanon Park. All six of these new multi-purpose sports parks come with corresponding parking.
Warren County Parks & Rec Director Chris Kummer believes this proposal is pivotal to providing the community with proper sport and recreation facilities.
“We’re at a point right now in Warren County to where additional multi-purpose field space is needed, not just for soccer, but for our youth football program and then for the ever-growing sport of lacrosse,” Kummer said. “We have other facilities that (currently) don’t have the available space. If we did have these (proposed) fields, we would be able to offer those services.”
This is currently just in the propositional stage, but we will continue to keep you updated on more information about this proposal as it becomes available.
