Vaping Products to be collected at National Prescription Drug Take Back Day this year
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-On Saturday law enforcement agencies in South-Central Kentucky will participate in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, and for the very first time they’ll also be collecting vaping products.
Vape pens and cartridges can all be dropped off at designated collection sites. However, any products with lithium batteries should not be disposed of at the take bake locations. Expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs will all be collected as well, free and anonymously.
Kentucky State Police Post 3 will be participating in Take Back Day for the 10th year. A representative with the agency explains the decision to include vaping products this time around.
“With the rising concerns of the vaping illnesses, and sicknesses that are linked to vaping, they’ve decided to add the electronic cigarettes to this. So if you have something like that and you’re worried about your kids getting involved with it, or you’re worried about somebody getting a hold of it, it can be brought back by the Post,” said Daniel Priddy, public information officer at KSP Post 3.
On Saturday from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. KSP Post 3 will be collecting at 311 Nashville Road. For more information about drop off locations and times click here!
