“Unity Is The Path Forward” – Biden Issues Call For Healing

(NBC News) — In a city hauntingly empty Wednesday, in the midst of a pandemic that for a year has kept us apart, the central message on the day of President Joe Biden’s inauguration was one of coming together.
“Unity is the path forward,” President Biden said after taking his oath of office.
That path began during a morning church service, where Mr. Biden was joined by Congressional leaders from both parties.
The theme continued through the transfer of power, with prominent Democrats and Republicans a part of the limited crowd.
“This is not a moment of division, it’s a moment of unification,” Missouri’s Senator Roy Blunt, a Republican, told the audience.
It comes just two weeks after a handful of Senators and dozens of Representatives challenged Joe Biden’s election and a mob of Trump supporters staged a heinous attack on the U.S. Capitol as electoral votes were being counted.
